REPOST - WinXP pro drive reading troubles.. private set on account, now need to recover...

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Dear All...

One of my users set her account to "private", meaning for more security for her account. well, the inevitable happened, she lost her hard drive as far as reliability goes, so we got a new one, rebuilt her machine, and now we're trying to recover some odds and ends from her documents and settings account.

to make a long story short, she marked it private, and now we can't recover.

Is there a way? Do we need to boot that hdd to put it on a usb drive?

Is there a way to undo that to an account, seeing that others have done the same thing?

Thanks!

J.
