Re: Restart service after coming back from standby/hybernation?

If your UPS functions are the similar to mine
The UPS icon in the task bar will show if the UPS service (Services) is
running.
If the service is stopped the icon may show an error
Now I would have thought if the service restarted the watch Icon should no
longer report an error, as mine does, as it should auto connect.(Much the
same as if you reboot)
I think this problem is one you ought to take up with your UPS tech

This was an excellent suggestion, I did not know about this option, the
only "problem" is that the service keeps running after wake-up.
Apparently there is no error in the service.

What I see is that there is a UPS watch program in the system tray, and
this service. I don't know if they are the same thing or two things
communicationg with each other. (When I stop the service, the tray icon
disappears.)

When the computer comes back from standby, I get an error pop-up on the
screen that the connection with the UPS is lost. The tray icon changes
to an error icon (exclamation mark), and the service apparently RUNS
okay, but the connection is lost. However, if I manually restart the
service, the connection is reestablished, tray icon comes back.

Weird for me. :-(

DL írta:
I dont know whether this would work, assuming when the PC wakes from
hibernation this service is stopped,
If you create a start service script, and in Recovery Tab of the service
select run a file, then select this script.?
PS I would have thought this scenario, of service not restarting, might
have
been covered in your UPS tech support. Others must be finding this.

Thank you. However, making the service restart is the easy part.
Triggering it at wake-up is the main problem for me. THIS is what I
would like to know.

I don't think that really matters, but it is "upsagent - UPS
monitor" -
for an AROS UPS (www.aros.it). Is it possible to write a script that
gets triggered after "waking up" and makes this service restart?

The UPS is comunicating via the serial port. The communication gets
lost whenever I hybernate the machine. Restarting the service
manually
solves everything.

and the particular service is?

Ladies and gentlemen, I dont really know where to post it.

Is there a way to schedule the restart of a particular windows
service
every time the computer comes back from standby or hybernation?

Thank you,
Keke
