Re: Screensavers will not initialize

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Wesley, I rolled my System restore back several program installations prior
to the problem and got my screensaver function back....I reloaded the
programs after making a restore point prior to each one. I got everything
installed and did not have the problem that I had previously. I'll chalk it
up to "Sunspots" or the generic "negative waves"......I have no idea what
caused it, I just know that it didn't do it the second time around. System
Restore is our friend....Thanks for your replies...Bill G

can change screen saver options.
(Not in the registry) = Same as if it were and set 1.

My computer is running XP Home/SP2 with all updates. I was in the
process of setting it up and somewhere along the way noticed that my
screensavers will not initialize......none of them. I have tried
different time settings and nothing will work. I can click on preview
and all screensavers work, the just won't initialize on their on. I
don't have any wireless devices. I checked my system resources and
nothing is initiating that would reset the timeout counter. I have not
downloaded any third-party screensavers.....only the ones that came with
XP and Plus......Thanks in advance for any help......Bill Gibbs
