Not quite. I have a display which is always on. Sometimes that display
does not change, thus, I am afraid that it will burn the TV display. I will
like so0mething like a screensaver to popup for a minute or 2 every 5-10
minutes and close withing a minute or so.

Oh, so what you want is a rewinding video player? is that more what you
need for this application? or picture shower? I have Perl code that I've
hacked to make pictures be the BACKGROUND, but the icons show thru..

In order to save screen - can I activate a screen saver for 1 min -

Something like activateing a task and than auto closing it.
"Saving" the screen isn't really needed on modern monitors. In the old
days of black-and-white monitors, burn-in was a serious poblem, but
today
it's much less of a problem, and the name "screen saver" is an
anachronism.
The main purpose of using a screen saver today is to stop any curious
passers-by who may want to see what you've been doing.
