To whoever can solve this my sincere appreciation...

I have a hard drive "D:" on which I keep a lot of old AutoCAD job
files. I just noticed today for some reason that this folder and all
the folders and files under this main AutoCAD archive folder are in
"Read-Only" mode! I don't know why this is so and I don't remember
seeing this before.
So... I tried to un-check the "Read-Only" box with the Windows
Explorer "Properties" window. It even asked me if I wanted to include
all the subfolders and files, to which I said yes. It then proceeded
to show a progress box (with progress bar and all) indicating 16
minutes remaining. After about 16 seconds it seemed to be done.

The problem is that it really did not change any of the "Read-Only"
attributes! I tried this many times, even with a different file
browser with the same result each time! This is MADDENING!!!!!

Does anyone know what is going on here, besides the typical Microsoft
programming BS???

This kind of stuff just makes me insane because I can see absolutely
no logical reason why it is refusing to obey what it is told to do
while at the same time making me think is doing so!

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

This is normal with Windows XP. Do you have a problem accessing the files?
