"Server" service paused after hibernation

I have an XP Pro SP2 laptop that I often put into hibernation. After it wakes up, one of the apps I'm developing encounters a runtime error because the "Server" service on my machine is paused. I can easily open the control panel and restart it, but I'm wondering why it gets paused and how I can configure my system not to pause the service.

When I look in the Event Viewer, I see a Service Control Manager entry credited to my User that reads as follows, "The Server service was successfully sent a pause control," but I didn't explicitly do anything to pause it.
