Hi,
I try to use Active directory instead of NetBios to access to shared
folders eliminating the browsing storm. All the client are XP pro and W2K.
The server (PDC) is a W2000 on which is active the AD service.
I published somes folder with the snap-in "Active directory Users and
Computer".
I have set "Disable NetBios Over TCP/IP" only on one XP Pro, just to test.
I can view the shared folder only if I access ti the action "Search in
Active Directory" on the left on the Network panel. This way is not much
useful.
On the contrary, if I try to use the classic approach "My Network-> Entire
Network ->Domain..." nothing appear.
Searching in Internet I found a link that explain these concepts
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/234582/EN-US/), in fact explain that the
normal browsing shoud work fine.
Can anyone explain me the correct approach ?
Thank to all in advantage.
