adding a com port

i have a palm that i need to connect to my pc for syncronisation. it can
only connect via USB and the documentation says i need to add a new COM port
and emulate it to the USB connection. (This way i should be able to
configure the syncronisation process to the new COM port).
My question is how/where do i add a new com port in Win XP pro and how do i
configure it use a USB connection.
