DVD drive type

I am using Windows XP Home Edition. I have a Sony PCV-
RZ14G with a Pioneer DVD-RW drive. Windows lists the
drive as a CD Drive and it won't recognize a recordable
DVD disc. How do I change the drive type to DVD-RW?
