Thanks Wes.
I found the problem. This is what I did in msconfig.
1. Did diagnostic boot = worked
2. Enabled all on both WIN.ini and System.ini = worked
3. Enabled all startup options = worked, therefore it was
a problem with a service, so...
4. Looking a brand new XP PC, enabled all the services it
had enabled = didn't work
5. Noticed workstation service was pending start up, so I
disabled this service = worked
6. Can't re-install or fix this vital service, so I am now
backing up and rebuilding the machine.
