That is the only way I can find and have experienced as far as a main system
drive is concerned in XP.

The end result of replacing a suspected failing drive was
that I now have my main system drive as F:. I received a
replacement drive and used the utility from the mfgr to
copy the drive from old (master) to new (slave). Reversed
the connections and jumpers but I ended up with an F:
instead of a C:. I am told I can't change the system
drive letter but a co-worker said he hit the same thing
and somehow changed it but doesn't remember how.
Anyone know a way out other than backup, format and
reintall?
