Hello,
Because of a recent virus attack I was forced to re
install xp on my machine. Because my system was hanging
during the installation I suspected that for some reason
it was using files stored in my C: drive to carry out the
re-install. I tried different things but couldn't get
around the issue. As a last resort I made my slave drive
the master and vice versa, and then re-installed xp. This
worked out fine. I was able to clean my system of the
virus, and everything is working fine now. Before the
virus hit I had two user accounts set up on my system,
one had a folder in the My Documents folder that could
only be accessed when I logged on to that account. I can
see that folder now in the D: drive but I have no access
to it (access denied message). I suspect my files are
still in there but I don't know how to access or if I'll
be able to at all. I can't even delete the folder. The
user account of course doesn't appear in the log on
screen. Is there any chance of recovering the data from
this folder?
Thanks for your time,
Joe
