I have found that you can get rid of that welcome screen in xp and back to
the win2000 login box by doing this:
control panel - user accounts-change the way users log on and off-uncheck
use welcome screen
my problem is that I still don't get the domain box under the user name and
password boxes.
any ideas?

works with Windows 2000 Professional, but with XP the multiple domains do
not show at startup. This is very frustrating, as you have to join the
domain you want, and then reboot, and then if you want to join a different
domain, you have to repeat the process.
