Whilst I have been able to backup fax stores, when using several different
fax apps, I've never been able to recover them when the PC was rebuilt -
tried many times
I still have the original backups so if any legal issues arise I can happily
provide the backups for others to sort out.
The post to export to another file format seems best

I use the fax module on windows XP. I need to back up my sent/rec'd
faxes
for a restore.
The simplest solution appears to be using your fax
app to / File / Export faxes in a file format you can
read in future. We do not know which app you use
(e.g.
/ Start / Help / "fax" tells us how to start
/ All Programs / Accessories / Fax Console.
When you select a single fax from the / Sent Items folder
you can / File / Export it in TIF format (rather than as a
WP file:) of course being able to read the fax here means
you may be able thus to identify its WP file, if saved.
Repost here if neither method is possible.
