Hi:
There a CD that allows you to reset a password. It is call "ERD commander". I
can not tell you where to download it, but you can search for it on the
internet.
Cheers

My friend gave me an old PC with XP SP2 that had died from a virus.
He bought a new one but he wanted his files from it so I pulled the hard
drive out and put it in my PC as a slave drive.
I could then see the whole hard drive which I de-virused and extracted
his files onto a DVD for him.
Success, but that was too easy!
So I placed it back the old PC and used my XP CD to do some repairs
(ie chkdsk.exe and fixboot.exe etc), so it boots up to login screen
but my friend can no longer remember his old password.
So I was wondering if the install of XP is salvageable?
I don't think it would be worth purchasing password recovery software
but wondered if I could put the hard drive back in my PC
and find the password that way?
I thought it couldn't be that hard since it was so easy to copy the data
off it to start with.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Simon
