Also, I cannot ask my son what he might have done because he is back
on active duty.
Something worked, because Word is now back to normal. So problem
remaining is getting Internet pages downsized.
Here's a long shot given nothing has worked so far. Has your son
changed the Task Bar properties. Unchecking the "Always on Top" box
can produce an effect similar to the one you describe. If you cannot
see the task bar when one of your "full screen" applications is
running minimise all windows so you can see the Task Bar right click
on it and click properties and make sure the "Always on top" option
is checked and the "Auto hide" is not

My son used my computer while I was away. Now, every page I open
(Internet,
Word, Outlook Express) takes up the entire screen, so I cannot see
the bottom of the page. I have tried restoring the system to an
earlier date, and using Zoom (works for Word but there is no
default so I have to do it every time).
Tried Zoom for Internet pages, but it only changes the size of the
font, not
the page size, so I end up with fuzzy words and the page still
taking up the
whole screen.
Went to "Help" which said to put pointer on borders and drag, but
it does not work either.
Would appreciate any help you may have to offer.
