why will my LG DVD writer not read or write?

I run XP Pro SP3 and have a SATA LG DVD writer which although recognised in
device manager will not read or write anything. Model is

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H62N

It was working fine before I changed my motherboard. I have reinstalled
adaptec ASPI. When I run Nero Infotool 5 it reports that all is well with
the drive.

What can I do to fix this?
