I have heard that Microsoft is making a big push for Vista and taking
Windows XP out of the retail stores in June 2008! I would still use my
favorite operating system XP, but wonder if they when they cease the
updates, it might be a good idea to backup my updates.. Just where are
they?
lol. Any help appreciated. hugs Rainy

Rainy,

You're correct that Microsoft will discontinue sales of XP in June of this
year.
Take a look at this web site for more info.

That said, Microsoft will continue to provide updates for Windows XP until
at
least April of 2014. Here are some web sites with more info on this subject.

Keep in mind that Service Pack 3 for Windows XP is soon to be released. In
the
past, Microsoft has given its customers the opportunity to order XP service
packs on CD at no charge. Hopefully, they will do the same for SP3. You can
also
expect to be able to download the entire service pack if you prefer.
