How can oneconnecta mediaplayer(Sansa) for the purpose of charging
only.
In other words I do not want the OS (MS Win XP Pro v2002 sp2) to
recognize theplayeras a mass external storage device.

In short, I want tochargetheplayerwhile in the office, but not
have my library detected and deleted.

Any ideas?  Maybe an autorun setting in the registry?

Thanks,

Tom [Pepper] Willett,

Thanks for the response. The company wishes to avaoid liabiltiy from
unscrupulous emplyees that have illegally downloaded files and expose
them to their system.

I don't want to beat IT practices. I want to comply, but still
recharge my personal media player via the convenience a USB port.

I have asked, IT department won't answer the questions.

Chuck,

Thanks much for the response. I didn't realize such power only USB to
Sansa cables existed, and would have assumed it to be a custom cable.
I also have not found one available at commercial sites. Please post
a link if you know of one.

Is it as simple as masking pins 2 & 3 on USB cable?

Bojimbo26,

Why poke at someone's ignorance? The purpose in a news group is to
educate each other.

Obviously some questions are trivial to others.
