Language choice is stuck

I had occasion to switch from English to Greek in Language
Options, to type a few Greek letters. I switched back to
English, but even after rebooting, the dates of e-mails sent
or received show as Greek sequence of DD/MM/YY, and time is
no longer A.M. or P.M., but has Greek letters there instead.
All the rest of the font, in messages, is English. Very odd.
I tried changing to German and back to English, but Greek stays
there in the date and time column.
Any suggested solution?
