Just completed a new install of XP on a new computer. When I first startedas
the install, I went into BIOS and had the first boot device as the CD Rom
the hard drive was new and had no system files on it. The install went
fairly normal, the only problem, the only way I can boot is to keep the CD
as the first boot device, plus I have to had the XP install disk in the CD
Rom drive. If I try to boot with the floppy or hard drive first I get the
following;
PXE-E61: Media test failure check cable.
PXE-MOF: Exiting Nvidia boot agent.
Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter.
Does this mean there are no system files on my hard drive? If so, how do I
correct this problem?
The first error message says your hard drive is either
misconnected or not working. Do you disbelieve this?
The vendor should be ready to replace the drive.
