Re: Crashing PC - ant ideas..

A copy of the Stop Error report is ideal but you should find a copy
giving similar information in the System log in Event Viewer.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427/en-us

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you
should double click for further information. You can copy using copy
and paste. Often the link will, however, say there is no further
information.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

My PC was doing the same thing. It turned out to be a faulty power
supply -
which showed up in the Hardware monitoring section of the BIOS.

Good Luck.

My pc keeps crashing at intermittent times......

The screen just goes black, like i've pulled the power lead
out.........then
it all re-boots....
I haven't a clue as to what makes it do it.....but I do get the
"your system
has recovered from an error" message and then it wants to send a
copy to Microsoft.
The error shows the following data......
C:\DOCUME~1\Dave\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERd475.dir00\Mini102807-03.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Dave\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERd475.dir00\sysdata.xml
I have scanned the system with AVG Anti-Spyware and also with AVG
anti virus
but neither shows anything.
Have you got any ideas ?
Thanks
Dave :(
