Re: Email of documents not working

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Thanks Dave for your help.

I have run the default mail utility, got it to reset the settings to
Thunderbird only. Restarted the computer, and there has been no change.

I have also, gone through 'Set Program Access and defaults", Custom
settings, and set the default mail program to Thunderbird, it reports that it
has applied the settings, I restart and still no progress.

I also tried uninstalling Thunderbird and reinstalling it.

I have tried setting the send mail preferences to Outlook (2007) but I still
can't get an email from the 'send to' option under right click...

I have also tried changing the properties manually of the 'Mail Recipient'
MAPIMAIL file to Thunderbird but it still doesn't work.

And I have tried making my own shortcut to Thunderbird, under the send to
area, but that too doesn't work.

Cheers
A

I directed you to that page because you neglected to mention that you
had also configured OE so that it would *not* be the default e-mail
client. By not doing this, there is a conflict.

Did you do it? (Again, your original post didn't mention it.)

Did you restart Thunderbird? Did you reboot the PC?

Did you try using the Default Mail Utility?

Hi,
I've just got a new machine with XP 64 on it.

I too have the same problem and this thread so far hasn't helped...

My problem relates to...

When you right-click a file and choose the Mail Recipient option in
the Send
To menu, the email window does not open.

I have set the default email program under Internet Options to
Thunderbird, tried regsvr32 sendmail.dll but it still wont work.

It doesn't work with any file type. When you select a pic to send it
goes through the resizing option as normal, but still no email
window opens.

Any ideas?

Have a look at "Default mail client":
