Peter,
Thanks for informing me of the Newsgroup for "Word". However, I do not
understand your statement "Requests for assistance by email can not and will
not be acknowledged". I thought these forums were used to describe problems
and request assistance from anyone who has information that might shed some
light on resolving them. I see this happening all the time. Please let me
know what I am doing wrong. Thanks, Charles Ranheim
You're not doing anything wrong, except that you are mixing up
messages posted to the newsgroup (like this one) with E-mail. An
E-mail message is a private message, sent to one person or a few
people. A message posted here to the newsgroup is a public one,
available to anybody who comes here to the newsgroup to read it.
Peter is saying that he will ignore any private E-mail message that
you might send him. Many of us feel the same way and do the same
thing. In fact many of us (me, for example) do not even include our
real E-mail address in our messages here, because we don't want to
receive such private mail.
