I have windows xp with service pack 2. Also have ATT & T dsl service
and AT&T dialup service. also am using Firefox browser.
When I depress the Firefox icon, I automatically able to access the
internet using dsl service. However, when in the dsl mode and I try
to reach a site, I find accessing is extremely slow. when I "x" out
of dsl browser, I find the dial-up window on the screen.
My suspicion is that the computer is attempting to access the dial-up
service while in the dsl service and that is causing a slow down.
My question, how can I stop the computer from accessing the dial up
service when using dsl service.?

In Internet Explorer go to tools >Internet options >connections
Check the appropriate item.

Do what he said and go to connections and choose the radio button to never
dial a connection. Or you can always delete the options under the dial up
connections. Either way works just as well.
