Re: XP Pro + external Harddrive + no boot

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Try deleting the external drive then power down, power on with drive
connected and let 'new hardware detected' install it for you.

I have a Pentium 4 with an intertal 200gb hard drive partitioned into equal
sized c,d,e drives, 2 dvds e&f also internal is a 300gb drive as I.

I also have a 500 gb external drive via USB as drive K

When the external drive is powered on the computer won't get past the
"Blue
Screen" act's almost like it is hung up or looking for something on the
external drive.

Disconect the usb or power down the unit, the computer boots just fine

Any idea's
