Possibly he has the monitor set to turn off shortly after the screensaver
engages (under the Power settings on Control Panel).

I`m writing this for my brother. His screensaver will come on, but in
a few minutes it just stops and the screen turns black without anyone
touching the computer, then when he moves the mouse the picture comes
on(which it should) but why does the screensaver qut automatically?
