TASKBAR

MY TASKBAR IS NOW TWICE THE HEIGHT IT USED TO BE.. HOW DO I RESIZE DOWN.. I HAVE WINDOWS XP......
IT WILL DRAG UP TO HALF THE SIZE OF THE SCREEN , BUT IT WON'T DRAG DOWN TO NORMAL SIZE ????
I HAVE HIT RIGHT CLICK ON EMPTY SPACE TO PROPERTIES AND TRIED EVERYTHING POSSIBE , WITH NO LUCK...
