Re: LAN connection fails

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

DL,
A couple of items in response; 1) Over the past 7 years of "house call" volunteering, I have yet to give up and reinstall, and 2) I have SP2 on my USB Flash Memory.

I do want to connect long enough to update the AVG and Ad-Aware for a final scan before installing SP2 and the remaining 70+ critical updates since then.

Gum tree and paddle springs to mind.
I dont suppose you have win2k cd to start from scratch with a known clean
sys?
You can download, burn latest sp to cd, to update prior to connecting

Malke,
A couple of problems. I repeat there have been no hotfixes applied, no
SP2.
I can't be sure that the system is malware free. I can't update AVG or any
of the other malware programs. If I was sure that it was clean, I would
install SP2.
