Might be possible that your hard disk is failing.
Corrupt disc errors may indicate that the disk is failing. Try running a
full sector scan with HDTune..

...and doing the error scan.. it is free.

Running XP Home SP2 with a gig of memory.
All of a sudden some programs, including Agent, are very slow to open
nd close. I've run my antivirus and antispyware and registry cleaner
programsand I also defragged.
I ran Chkdsk in read-only mode, and it quit after the second function
telling me that "errors found and chkdsk can't continue".. I then ran
it twice with the /F switch but whatever got fixed didn't solve my
problem.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what else I can try, short of
reinstallng Windows?
