Is there something like SFC in XP Home, so that I can

A win
message came up upon boot, indicating that "user32.dll was
relocated..." because a directX file occupied an address
range
reserved...(more, non-understood). I've looked all throught
XP help
files but found no entries. What to do ?

The error message you're seeing may be the result of having
installed a recent update from Microsoft. There's a fix
available from the following web site.

The Realtek HD Audio Control Panel may not start, and you
receive an error message when you start the computer: "Illegal
System DLL Relocation"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935448/

FYI, SFC /scannow works the same way in XP Home as it does in
any other version of XP. However, it probably will not fix your
problem.

Good luck
