_____
"Microsoft Windows XP Professional Resource Kit"
3d Edition
Microsoft Press
Redmond, WA
Copyright 2005
ISBN 0-7356-2167-5
Microsoft part number: X11-0864
Make sure you do NOT get a 1st or 2nd edition, those editions do not cover
Service Pack 2, an important set of security, performance, and usability
updates (and kills a number of bugs too.)
Amazon.com offers a MUCH better price than Barnes & Noble:
* Amazon.com price: $37.79 US w/ free shipping
* Barnes & Noble price: $59.99 US w/ free shipping, $53.99 if you have
their discount card

| Thanks, I will get Barnes & Noble to round it up for me.
|
| As I may have mentioned, I have both XP Pro and Vista Ultimate running
| on a 1st edition of an Apple Macbook, which is only 2.16GHz speed and
| only 2GBs of ram.
|
| Selling that computer, moving to a slightly faster 2.33GHz MacBook with
| 3GBs of ram in 2 weeks.
|
| Vista seems to be impressive, however my one software app', Dragon
| NaturallySpeaking Pro v9.00 will not run on Vista, only runs on XP.
|
| Everyone here has been very helpful, quite a contrast from the Mac NGs
| where I get flamed fairly regularly.
|
|
| Thanks all,
|
