Hi all,
A few weeks ago, I noticed this with the task manager on my XP laptop
with all Windows updates.
It will open maximized, taking up the whole screen, which looks dumb.
So I try to click the Restore button (the middle one in the top right
corner of the window), and it minimizes (ruh?).
So now it's minimized, and when I click on the taskbar button to bring
it to the front, a little copy image of it kind of zooms to the top
left corner of the screen and disappears, but shows nothing (yet the
taskbar button is now in the "pressed" state, which means it is
supposed to be in focus). The only thing I can do to use the task
manager then is to right-click on the taskbar button and select
"maximize", and it indeed comes back to the forefront, maximized. But
I can't get it to be the nice normal size like it always has been
until 2 weeks ago.
I noticed that whenever any normal taskbar button is pressed, it zooms
up but takes up the whole screen, instead of to the top left corner.
I suspect that the normal state of my task manager is set to be a 0 x
0 sized window, but I don't know how to fix it.
For any info on this, I would greatly appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Dan
I have since found the best solution. For any window that disappears
when minimized, see :
http://bink.nu/forums/14436/PrintPost.aspx
One of the last solutions shows how to use Alt-Space-M and then they
arrow keys to expand the window from its 0 by 0 state.
Thanks again,
Dan
