Booting annoyence with Quicktime.

Every time I reboot, turn on machine with XP Pro, just before the icons appear (quick launch I think they are termed) lower right next to clock, screen appears wanting to install Quicktime. Quicktime IS installed. I end it by hitting escape. And setup goes to completion. Where are the boot up instructions for this located? I have uninstalled Quicktime and removed every reference of Quicktime that I could locate, even from registry. The Quicktime install screen still appears and if I select to install, it does so. And where is the install screen finding the program to install.
Running msconfig does not show any reference to Quicktime.
This developed when XP Pro was put on machine with a fresh install.
I want to remove this annoyance. Any counsel would be appreciated.
