No idea about µSoft defaults!
Ian's suggestion regarding services http://theeldergeek.com is the link I would have suggested.
You give no indications as to how long the boot is taking. I would look at Error Reports in Event Viewer and problematic drivers before casting my eye over Services. Also the presence of Symantec or McAfee on a lesser resourced computer can have a significant impact on performance.
Where did you get your recommended list of services? If you post a link one of us may be able to spot "dodgy" advice!
What RAM and what is the size and free space for the system volume?

Hope this helps.

Running XP Pro.
Looking for the following:
1. What are the µSoft defaults?
2. Which Services can REALLY & TRUELY be disabled (for faster
boot time)?
I have "disabled" most of the <recommended> services...only to
find that I can not re-install certain software (ie. HP's
Officejet All-in-One).
I've played with the services....been able to re-install
software...but only by luck.
I'm not sure which ones should be Auto or Manual or actually
disabled.
NOTE: Only one computer no home Network.
In advance, thanks for your help.
