these link to whatever is embedded in the web site, NOT the big blue "e".
So he right clicks goes to properties and change Icon and bing bang boom,
instead of a big "e" for his Google shortcut he has the Google Icon Logo.
All worked well for many months then all of a sudden all the web links
went back to the big "e", and would not change back. After some research
a MS knowledge base article was found that said to drop to 16 bit color
change the Icons, and them go back to 32 bit color at which time the
Icons would actually change to the web site Icon. The article also talked
about a shelliconcach setting in the registry, which was not there and I
had to add. It also talked about deleting the shelliconcach file, which
turned out in this case not to be called shelliconcache, but I believe
something.db.
Well although the Icons would change to the desired custom logos ect after
going back to 32 bit color, on reboot they would all be "e" again.
Does anyone have any ideas on how get around or fix this bug.
Thanks for your help,
Ralph Malph
