I have recently purchased a new computer and did not get an "original"copy
of my Windows XP (have upgrade coupon for Vista) and wanted to know if Ican
create a backup disk or startup disk of WinXP. I have a recovery disk formy
system but feel "naked" without my own XP disk. I keep wondering what Iwill
do if I attempt something that requests I "insert my XP disk". There isno A
floppy on the system, just the DVD/CD drive and slots for other storage
systems. What are people doing in this situation?
First of, with XP...there are not going to be situations where you will be
asked to "insert XP disk"
However...with a recovery disk...if you have a major problem and need to
recover...
all data on the drive will be lost..
Your best bet is to always backup your important data
Too late now...but you should probably have not purchased a machine that did
not actually come with an
XP cd
.
