Of interest here is that the stated 'Locale' is ........ United States!
My much older Dell PC says United Kingdom!
You said "You reported from Bellarc KT266 Pro2-A" - I cannot identify where
you think I may have said that. I took the number from the handbook which I
received with this PC - it is entitled K7T266 Pro2-A - I may have failed to
include the '7' - I apologise if this is the case! :-(
You also mentioned "I am a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of England and
Wales. Newsgroups are a hobby, much as some do Crosswords". My daughter is
an accountant too (ACCA) and when I worked for Bowring (later Marsh) as an
IFA running our Exeter office (Financial Services) I came into regular
contact with accountants! You may recall that Bowring ran a special PHI
scheme for the ICA!
Computing is simply a hobby for me, too, yet I still become frustrated "when
I cannot find answers to the clues"! <g>
Any ideas will be welcomed. I've not yet heard from Belarc by email.
David

These programmes can only report what is recorded on the system. The
Microsoft tool is System Information but this generates less information
than Bellarc Advisor and Everest. On my system I do not see a line for
Version and Serial Number but it may be that my copy of Everest needs
updating.
You reported from Bellarc KT266 Pro2-A. The MSI archive suggests
K7T266 Pro2-A. Have you copied it correctly from Bellarc?> --

Another puzzling point raised by using Everest:
Motherboard Properties:
Manufacturer MSI
Product MS-6380E
Version 1.0
Serial Number 00000000
Perhaps there is a simple explanation for there being no serial number
being reported. If you have the time, Gerry, perhaps you would look and
see what your PC reports.
OT here - are you really an accountant, Gerry, or does 'your' FCA stand
for something computer related? :-)
David

The Report by Bellarc is odd. It will be interesting to see
what Everest reports.
It seems you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard:

Hope this helps.

Hello Gerry.
Motherboard is an MSI KT266 Pro2-A (MS-6380E) with an AMD Duron 1300
MHz Processor
I'll have a look at the link to Everest a little later. Thank you for
that.
David
