Re: delete multiple files in search window

This used to work on my old windows 2000 machine, but not in xp. I'm
searching a network drive for *.bak files, then I sort them by date, then I
select a range of them and delete- error message comes up:

cannot delete file cannot read from source file or disk.

It happens every tiime, no matter which files I select or how many. BUT,
when I try to delete them one at a time, it works. And when I hop on the old
windows 2000 machine, I can select and delete as many as I want with no
errors.

Any ideas what is wrong?

This seems to be a long standing problem in XP that Microsoft has not
addressed. If you search the "Groups" and Web, you will find many
references to this issue, but no real admission that it is an "issue".
You will not find a solution offered for this "non issue" either.

But, if you do find a solution, please share it here. I know many will
find it valuable information.
