That's an interesting question. I appreciate seeing your feedback on the
success rate you've seen. I haven't run into any problems yet in
installations on a small number of computers for evaluations and plan to do
a large volume of installations for clients next week. My suspicion is that
a lot of the reported problems may involve home computers that are loaded
with malware and other problems. This seems very similar to SP2, where I
encountered only a few minor problems in hundreds of installations, but
poorly maintained or malware loaded home computers updated by users had
many. On the other hand, the unnecessary and generally problematic
integration of the browser into the OS does create some potential for
conflicts and problems.

Does anyone have a clue as to why IE 7.0 is causing this issue or other
issues that seem to be blamed on IE 7.0. I have installed IE 7.0 on my 4
personal computer and about 100+ client computers without one issue. Are
these issues just a fluke. Can someone provide insight (or proof) that IE
7 is the cause for all these problems when downloaded and installed. I am
not saying that it may not be the cause; I just have not ran into ANY
issues when installing it on 100+ variety computers.

I don't know how the rest of you feel but IE 7 is the Ebola of software.
Killed my HP ScanJet 8200, screwed up Word and my pdf program. Solution:
There is no solution; it's format the drive and reinstall everything.
BTW, HP is working on a fix to make the ScanJet work.
Me, I'm going back to IE 6. My daughter tells me to change to Firefox.
Thank goodness beer isn't just a breakfast drink anymore.
Time to reformat,
