For no apparent reason on booting I have started the following
warning: SmartBridge Alerts: entry point not found. The procedure
entry point Get Process Image File Name W could not be located in the
dynamic link library PSAP1.dll. If I close the window the computer
seems to run OK.

What might be causing this and how can I get it to go away?

A quick Google for your error message brings up a lot of links:

Since I don't know how you connect to the Internet or whether you
installed IE7, etc. you should look at the various links yourself for
what matches your situation.
