givin g me error messages when I try to boot. The windows startup
screen begins and then I receive a black screen with an error message
that states: Windows cannot start because the following file is
missing or corrupt:
System32\Drivers\isapnp.sys and then proceeds to have me insert my
windows
disc and choose "r" at the first screen. When I try to boot to the
CD, it begins all of the regular windows start-up stuff and then I
receive the message "ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. the error code
is 7".
I cannot boot to safe or any other option. No hardware has changed at
all.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Since you are getting different error messages and since you say this
happened with no warning, you probably are having hardware failure. The
KB article for the ntkrnlmp.exe error indicates that "This issue may
occur if your computer's BIOS has issues when ACPI is enabled". Since
you haven't changed anything and since all recent laptops will be ACPI
compliant, your motherboard may be the component that is failing.

This is not a software issue and you will need to contact Dell tech
support for repair/replacement.
