Hello, I am going on vacation to the shore next week and would like to
bring
my laptop. I have comcast internet service here at home. Yet the
house at the shore they have Verizon DSL. Can someone please tell me
how to connect my laptop and what I have to do in order to get
internet access if this is at all possible?
Thank you

It depends on what hardware they have at the house at the shore. If they
have a non-wireless router, just plug your laptop into one of the ports
using an ethernet cable. It should Just Work as long as your computer
is set to get IP/DNS automatically (it probably already is).

If they have a wireless router and you want to use your laptop
wirelessly, you'll need the router's encryption key. The owners should
provide that. Your laptop's wireless will see the shore house's
wireless network and allow you to connect when you enter the encryption
key.

If you want more focused help, tell us what hardware is at the shore
house.
