What is the drive letter assigned? Does Windows XP Disk Management see it?
As that letter?
If so, do you have TweakUI XP? If so, check to see if that Drive Letter is
turned off.

Ok! Lawrence, the Deleting and Creat process worked fine. Also Merged
two partitions (ones that were 'retrieved'). Partition also has a Disk
letter.
Problem/question now is: what do I do to make XP 'see' this partition?
Make it useful. PM-8 and Norton 'see' it.

When you click on the 'Other', is Delete Partition available. If so,
Delete it, which will make in Unallocated and Free Space. Then you
should be on your way.

Had a copy of PM 8 - installed it. The "other" partitions at one time
were assigned to a Linux system and are currently identified by PM8 as
such. . While they are "seen" in the "picture" of partitions, they are
not accessible by the Move, Change Partition or any other PM 8
operation.
Ideas appreciated.
(Or maybe I should contact Symantec who acquired PM.)

Basically, if I understand your request, is that you want to:
1. Remove the Logical and All Extended partitions after E.
2. Move E: to the end of the now released free space.
3. Move D: to where E: used to be so that the free space is up
against C:
4. Resize C: to include the free space.
Windows XP does not permit this. However, there are third-party
products that do.
I use System Commander (www.v-comm.com), others are PartitionMagic (I
believe Symantec product),
another Acronis True Image.
The cheapest and easiest I believe is System Commander. Any of them
are a good investment.
BTW: Consider creating a separate Swap partition depending on the size
of your new free space. Just leave some free space at the end of the
drive when moving everything around.

I have a physical drive with three active partitions. Via XP's Disk
Management, I see two other partitions that at one time were used in
a Linux environment. The partitions do not have drive assignment,
i.e. E, F, G for instance. They are noted as Healthy (Unknown
Partition). Right clicking notes "Delete Logical Drive" (only, all
other options are grayed out). IF deleted, are they gone forever-or-
is there space added to Free Space?
Also . .
I have, C, D, and E. The two partitions noted above are beyond E.
If they, the above, can be added to Free Space (now 1.1 GB in size),
I could format them. If so, could I move stuff in E to the new
partition, stuff in D to what is now in E, and open up D to expand
C? Better said, how do I add Free Space to 'C'? Apps are in D and
E. The 9.7 GB C is still crammed with about 10% free space!
