How about some information about the base station, or if ad hoc, the other
computer(s).
What signal strength do you get when the wireless is connected?
What laptop do you use?

What does clicking on 'Network Connections' in the 'Control Panel' show?

'Disconnected' can show when the signal strength is to low for operation, or
the base station or other computer (in an ad hoc network) is turned off.

The signal strength varies-even when connected, the last time I checked
it was 60%

What laptop do you use?

I use a Dell Inspiron 1150

I haven`t contacted Dell Support about this problem, because the
computer didn`t come with a wireless card. I have contacted the people
who installed it and he said something about there might be a switch or
button on the computer-but I found none.

What does clicking on 'Network Connections' in the 'Control Panel' show?

It shows connected right now, It also shows connected in my taskbar
when I run my cursor over it. But what I really want to know is, how do
I get the wireless card to connect-if it shows disconnected?
