Re: File preview on left side of right pane in Windows Explorer

Got it - that works. It was in W2K that you can do it even with Folders
enabled, which I would prefer. But, oh well! Cest' la Microsoft. Thanks.

Hi,

If you have the Folders view enabled under View/Explorer Bar, you need to
disable (uncheck) it.

Rick,

Thanks for the response. I went to Tools > Folder Options and I already
have that selected. In fact the icon you can see when you have that
selected
is exactly what I'm looking for. I tried to change to Windows classic,
apply, and then change back to no avail. The Name column is right up next
to
the dividing bar between the Folders and Details panes.

Hi,

Perhaps you mean that when you select a file, there are details and a
preview of any image files in the left pane? For this feature, you need
to
have the common tasks enabled in folder options.

Can't seem to find the setting that would allow this. Windows Explorer
has
two panes when you allow folders. The left pane has the folders, and
the
right pane has the contents of the selected folder. I've seen where
the
right pane has information about the file you have selected and under
it a
thumbnail of the file.

How do I enable this?

I have XP Pro, but I can't remember if I've only seen this in W2K or if
I've
seen it in XP too.

Thanks.

Ken
