My CD of Drive Image 7 is developing a crack.Few questions:
Can't find one for sale on the Web.....
Anybody got an old one they can spare?
Thanks
1) Do you have your original install serial number?
2) Do you know how to access & download from a binary group?
I can upload a copy of the disk for you if you like to maybe <alt.binaries.misc> or <alt.binaries.test>
P.S. I *DO NOT* condone pirated software but as you appear to be a legit owner there is no harm in just giving you a copy to use your serial to install........Say the word and I'll put it up for you.
and on its paper sleeve, the 20-character code is present.
Ok that's a good start.......
I don't recognize the terms you refer to in (2), so
perhaps I don't. If you'd be so kind as to upload a
copy of D.I.-7, I'd like to try it. The real question is this:
Copies I've made from the original, do work as far as
creating the Drive Image...but they do *not* boot to the
PQRE, so I can't do the Recovery. Worth a try on your copy.
Well than that might be a problem if you're not familiar with binary groups......... ;0)
My copy does boot to the PQRE
Does Thunderbird actually have binary decoding capability? I'm not familiar with TB at all....
use it if need be.
Basically you subscribe to the group I upload to and download all the RAR parts. Do you have a zip program and are able to burn an ISO?
ZIP and UNZIP? Like PKZIP and PKUNZIP? I have those....
and XP's native unzipper seems to work.
I believe Winzip or XP's native unzipping tool may work on RAR's......
Or, bottom line, what zip prog do you use?
See if you can subscribe to a group called <alt.binaries.fukengruven> It's the least amount of head count & would be much easier to work with....
If not make sure you can get the other two groups I mentioned earlier....Worst case scenario I will direct you to a prog that's much easier.
Working my way into those newsgroups is going to be more than I can
handle, I fear. The copies I've made, that don't get the hidden
files, I did by the simple Windows highlight, copy, and then paste
to the CD burner drive. I don't think I have any other burner software
any more...I've relied on XP because it's so simple and straightforward
to use. What I need is on my source CD, but I need a way to get at it.
Someone has offered to burn a new copy and mail it to me.....let's see
if that works, and thanks for the offers....
