Re: Total McAfee Removal Prior to Norton Installation

I'd been a pretty loyal Norton user for years and years and years,
until $ got a little tight at renewal time.

It took hours of uninstalls and regedits to remove all traces of it
from my system, and I STILL find traces of it lurking about.

Never again!

I also used Norton successfully for many years, and never had a problem, so
I pooh-poohed the advice of others who told me how terrible it was. Then I
ran into a string of severe problems, on several differemt machines, and
became a convert to their way of thinking.

The insidious thing about Norton is that for many people it often works well
without problems for a while, sometimes for a long while. Then one day, the
problems start.

I did the add/remove for McAFee so I cn start frsh wth Norton.
Parts of McAfee are still booting up since I did the removal. What
is th best way to totally remove McAFee related programs once & for
all. I don't want to intall Norton until it's off. Thanks

Going from the frying pan to the fire? McAfee is bad enough, but
Norton is worse.

Choose Avast, AVG, etc., in prefernce to either of them.
