In order to do some repair work, Symantec (ugh!)
has instructed me to:

1. Open the Deploy.cab file located in \Support\Tools

folder on your Service Pack 2 CD.

My SP2 CD contains only one big .EXE file.
My SP2 slipstreamed with my XP Installation CD
contains only one big .iso file.

Is there a way for me to obtain SP2 in a form where
I can do as Symantec has asked?

Thanks.

As Doug Knox has pointed out, you should be looking on an actual Windows
XP installation CD. If you still can't find the correct file on your
installation CD, it can be downloaded here:

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Deployment Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3E90DC91-AC56-4665-949B-BEDA3080E0F6&displaylang=en

After you've opened this file you'll need to extract the contents to a
folder. Here's how:
Open Deploy.cab.
Hit the Ctrl + A keys to select all the files.
Right click on one of the highlighted files.
Select Extract from the menu that pops out.
In the "Select a Destination" dialog, click on Desktop and hit the "Make
new folder" button.
Name the new folder Deploy and hit the Extract button.
You'll get a warning for each file that the publisher cannot be verified.
Keep hitting the save button until you've extracted all the files.

Good luck

That was a good link, Nep....I had to download and install the
WGA and that went okay. I got to a listing of popular downloads,
and there was one for Service Pack 1 Deployment Tools and one
for Service Pack 2 Support Tools but none for Service Pack 2
Deployment Tools. Could I ask you to fill in the steps from
that "popular downloads" page appearing, and your advice to
"Open Deploy.cab"?? I don't kno where to go from that page.
