Check and see if you have this path:.
C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories
See if the mswrd6.wpc is in that folder, as well as mswrd8.wpc, wordpad.exe,
and write.wpc.
Windows Components is trying to install Wordpad, which is automatic
installed when using Add/Remove Windows Components.
First:
Was Calculator checked?
You can also download the upgrade to Windows Calculator ... called Power
Calculator ... from the Windows XP PowerToy site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
However, I hate it. But you may like it.
You can change Add/Remove Windows Components to Show Wordpad as an option
under Accessories and Utilities | Accessories.
And then you can uncheck it so it won't be attempted to be installed.
Check on those files ... and what other files (you mentioned) cannot be
found?

ensure that the location specified below is correct, or change it and
insert
"Window XP home edition service pack 2 cd" in the drive you specify.

Try the following:
1. Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and click on Add/Remove Windows
Components
2. Make Sure Accessories and Utilities is checked and highlighted
3. Click on Details while Accessories and Utilities is highlighted
(selected)
4. Make sure Accessories is checked and highlighted
5. Click on Details
6. Make sure Calculator is checked
If any of these are not checked, check them and then click on OK for each
Window until you get to the Main window. Then click on Next. Windows
will
verify everything is installed and install if not present.

Hi
Go to the following folder in Windows Explorer:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories
and create a shortcut for the Calculator with the following command:
%SystemRoot%\System32\calc.exe
See if it re-appears where it should be.
